About
Aheneah is the creative identity of Ana Martins, a Portuguese-born, Brooklyn-based textile artist. Her work explores the intersection of traditional textile and contemporary art, transforming fibers into large-scale, immersive installations. By merging the softness of textiles with rigid materials and architectural forms, Aheneah pushes the boundaries of both materials and perception.
Her journey has led her to public art festivals across Europe, collaborations with brands such as Tous and Taguspark, and participation in collective exhibitions. Her work has been featured in publications like Unravelling Women's Art, Designboom and This is Colossal.
Currently, Aheneah is pursuing a MFA in Textiles at Parsons, with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. She is committed to challenge the boundaries of textile art by creating a dialogue between craft and innovation.
